- Passive radar imaging: a suitable technology for military applications? -
  Abstract - Passive radar is nowadays an interesting and promising system for civilian and military applications with a good level of technological maturity. Array passive radar are now a reality and some products already exist in the market. The capability of a PR to make detection and tracking in covert mode has been well demonstrated trough several EU, EDA ,NATO projects and initiatives as well as via several experiments with existing products or prototypes. A new step forward for passive radar is to enable the imaging capabilities making use of wideband Illuminator of Opportunity waveforms or by exploiting multistatic or MIMO configurations.</p>
<p>The key speech will address the problem of enabling imaging capability in passive radar. A short overview on monostatic and bistatic ISAR (Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar) techniques is provided. Then, the main passive radar imaging architecture will be illustrated and the main steps for getting 2D ISAR image is presented.
